Absinthe v2.0 to Jailbreak All Devices Running iOS 5.1.1 [Untethered]

iOS developer Pod2g has already announced that he would be releasing a new version of his famous iOS jailbreaking tool “Absinthe” just in a couple of weeks.  Now one of Pod2G’s fellow dev, Xvolks, uploaded a video demonstration of Absinthe v2.0 which shows iPhone 4 (GSM) being successfully jailbroken on the latest iOS 5.1.1.

Accordingly, Absinthe v2.0 will be the first and only tool able to jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 untethered on all devices including iPad 2, iPhone 4S and the recently released iPad 3 . Absinthe v2.0 is primarily based on its original version but it now supports more firmwares and devices. But as noted above, the current video demonstration of Absinthe v2.0 is done on iPhone 4 (GSM) and thus the tool needs to be tested on more devices before it goes public.

For those who don’t know, Absinthe was released in this January to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running iOS 5.0.1 or earlier in an untethered way. The beauty of Absinthe tool lies in its 1-click jailbreaking solution which doesn’t require your device to be firstly put into a jailbroken DFU mode.
