Apple to Add Second Manufacturer for its Upcoming iPad Upgrade-iPad 3!
A recent report from DigiTimes reveals; Apple is planning to add on a second manufacturing partner for its upcoming iPad3 tablet to release this upgraded iPad model later this year; most likely.

Apple reportedly plans to add a second manufacturer for iPad 3 tablet PCs in addition to Foxconn Electronics with Taiwan-based Quanta Computer and [Pegatron] Technology being indicated as the potential contenders for the possible orders, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
[Pegatron], which reportedly have landed iPhone 5 orders from Apple, stands a better chance of winning the iPad 3 orders, the sources noted.
It should be noted that Foxcon Electronics is Apple’s oldest partner in manufacturing iPad tablet, while both Pegatron and Quanta are also Apple’s reliable manufacturers. Pegatron partners apple for producing CDMA iPhone 4 while Quanta is a well tested manufacturer for Apple Mac products.
The said report also reads that Apple’s recent decision to add a second manufacturer for the production of its next generation iPad 3 is due to massive lack in iPad 3 production on account for big explosion at Foxconn’s new production plant in Chengdu in which three casualties were reported and the company had to cease work in all of its polishing shops, temporarily, to carry out investigations. This serious incident has finally convinced Apple to add another manufacturer partner for iPad 3 production to minimize risk factor and to maximize the probability that Apple iPad 3 would hit the shelves right in scheduled time scale.
