Apple Announces the new iPhone 5; A6 CPU, Slim Aluminium + Glass Design & Ultrafast Wireless!

Apple just announced the most-rumored and much-anticipated iPhone with a ton of new features and improvements. The name is iPhone 5, not the “new iPhone” as many of us were expecting. First comes the design; the new iPhone 5 is made entirely from glass and aluminium with black colored back. It weighs just 112 grams (20% less than that of iPhone 4S). Its also Apple’s slimmest smartphone with a thickness of just 7.6mm.

Like its ancestor, the new iPhone 5 comes with same 4-inch screen but this times the screen is slightly taller. The Retina Display resolution is 1136 x 640 with 326ppi. The screen aspect ratio for watching videos is now kept at 16:9. Almost all of the apps have been updated for the new iPhone 5 which makes them look more sharp and crystal clear.

Now about iPhone 5′s connectivity; Apple calls it ”Ultrafast Wireless”, HSPA+ is 21Mbps, DC-HSDPA is 42Mbps, and LTE is a max of 100. From its ancestor iPhone 4S, it also inherits the dynamic antenna feature which automatically switches between different antenna connections for best performance. In America, it would be supporting Sprint, AT&T and Verizion along with usual LTE carriers.

On the performance side, Apple iPhone 5 incorporates the new “A6 Chip” which has 2X faster CPU and 2x graphics compared to the A5. Due to its compact design, the A6 Chip is also more energy-efficient.

EA’s Rob Murray also gave a little demo about gaming experience on the new iPhone 5, using the game “Real Racing 3″. Wow! The graphics are awesome as usual but now the users are also able to use rear-view mirrors and see the much dedicated reflections. The game would be available for iPhone 5 on the next month.

Apple iPhone 5′s camera has 8 Megapixels, well we’re not sure whether it beats Lumia 920 or not. “Shared Photo Streams” is a new feature of sharing a group of photos with family and friends. Finally, Panorama is now Apple’s official feature with which you would be able to capture 360′ photos and view them with the help of Gyroscope technology. The major improvement is for the front facing camera, it now captures real HD 720p videos. Along with this, there are present 3 audio microscopes that’d definitely boost the FaceTime video calling experience.

Now another major improvement, Apple announces a new connector. We all know that from iPod to iPhone 4S, all are still using the same connector, now Apple’s making a change. Well, Apple calls it “Lightning Connector”; it has 8-signal much slimmer design with more durability during data transfer.

And here comes Apple iPhone 5′s battery life figures; 8 hours of 3G or LTE talk time or browsing. 10 hours on WiFi browsing.

Now let’s check the price tags for different iPhone 5 models; $199 for 16GB. $299 for 32GB, $399 for 64GB.

What’s Still Lacking in iPhone 5:

Well Apple introduced a lot of features in the new iPhone 5 but I don’t think its completing expectations as well as the market demand, specifically when we compare its design with Samsung Galaxy S III. It is lacking Near Field Communications technology neither Apple told incorporated Bluetooth 4.0. Also, micro-USB compatibility is missing.
