Apple Gains for High iPhone 4S Demands, Android Faces Decline in Q4 2012! Nielson

Just align with previous reports, Nielson’s latest report on the smartphone sales performances endorses that Apple has gained a considerable boom in Q4-2012 (October-December) due to high iPhone 4S demands while Android and RIM both faces decline in the sales of their smartphones in the same fourt quarter of the last year.

Nielson’s report reads:

Among recent acquirers, meaning those who said they got a new device within the past three months, 44.5 percent of those surveyed in December said they chose an iPhone, compared to just 25.1 percent in October. Furthermore, 57 percent of new iPhone owners surveyed in December said they got an iPhone 4S.

The iPhone 4S has been globally welcomed mostly for its amazing Siri feature which has also helped Apple to lessen the Android lead shrunk from  huge 36.5 percent to a mere 4 percent, within 03 months time duration.  However, the last line of the quoted paragraph given above hints that low priced iPhone 4 and free iPhone 3GS also contributed in Apple’s re-acquiring of the market.

RIM’s market share terribly fell flat from 7.7% to 4.5 % during 4th quarter of 2012.

Overall market shares of the all tech giants showed no change, Android is still smiling at the top with 46.3% market share, followed by Apple iOS at 30 percent, while the remaining part of the pie goes to other smartphone players including RIM & Windows Mobile.
