Apple Actually Hired Jailbreaker “Comex” To Avoid from His Embarrassing Exploits?

Everybody in jailbreak community knows that Apple has hired one of their most favorite jailbreakers “Comex”, who has been known as a top class hacker equipped with matchless hacking and jailbreaking skills. Comex- a jailbreaker who was the first to discover exploits in Apple’s iPad and delivered an easiest jailbreak tool “JailbreakMe 3.0” for jailbreaking iOS devices especially iPad 2.

Apple first officially acknowledged his abilities in its update and then hired him as an intern. We all were considering that Apple finally has hired Comex for his abilities to discover loopholes, exploits, vulnerabilities in their security systems. But now, a recent report by idownloadblog reveals dark side of the picture as well.

The site reports by citing an “Anonymous Tipstar” that Apple hired Comex not for his abilities and skills in the field of security systems, instead; Apple actually hired him to avoid from his embarrassing exploits.

 “I hear we didn’t hire Comex for his skills, but to ensure that he won’t reveal embarrassing exploits anymore.”

The site also notes;

If you think about it, this makes sense. Apple is a company built on a perfectionist mentality. Jailbreakers are a thorn in the side of Apple’s philosophy, and Apple has become more aggressive at patching uncovered exploits in recent months.

While it’s true that Apple has borrowed ideas and stolen talent from the jailbreak community for years, jailbreakers have continued to embarrass Apple with almost every iOS release. What’s most embarrassing to a company with billions of dollars in the bank and some of the most talented engineers in the world? How about a group of hobbyists, freelancing developers, and teenagers that hack iOS from their basements?

We think that the site’s remarks on Apple strategy are little bit unfair and biased. Apple has utmost rights of doing all those things which the company thinks better for its progression.

No doubt, Apple was feeling embarrassment on Comex’s discovered exploits and vulnerabilities, yet these were only Comex abilities and skilled those convinced Apple to hire him in the company.
