Apple iPad mini Features Stereo Speakers: Phil Schiller Confirms
Wow! iPad mini launching on this Friday will be definitely the first iOS device that features stereo speakers . Apple is much clever than our thoughts; by delivering the new smaller doc connector allows Apple to have enough space to incorporate stereo speakers in iPad mini at the bottom edge of the device, however, the company decided to not to add these ones into their new 4th generation iPad- iPad 4.
The rumors of stereo speakers on ipad mini tablet made their place when leaked case designs for the new smaller tablet hit the tech surfaces with two sets of small holes, one on each side of the Lightning port. Similar arrangements have been experienced on iPhone models with one side housing a speaker and the other with a microphone for phone conversations. But iPad models have only a single speaker grille aside.
Apple amazingly didn’t uttered even a single wrd about addition of stereo speakers in the iPad mini at their last week’s media event. It also showed only the singular “speaker” on its official page depicting the device’s input/output capabilities. Amazon speculated that the iPad mini did not featur stereo speakers, in their checklist comparison publicizing the Kindle Fire HD on its front page.
But he was The Verge‘s Joshua Topolsky who mentioned first that the iPad mini does indeed contain stereo speakers in the first batch of iPad mini reviews. Topolsky also declared the feature in a Tweet, describe in that stereo speakers for iPad mini have been confirmed by Apple.
For absolute confirmation, a 9to5Mac reader asked Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller about the speakers, and Schiller responded flatly “It is stereo.”
Interestingly enough, on sensing the situation, Amazon has wiped out the comparison checklist between the Kindle Fire HD and the iPad mini from its site page.
