Apple iPad Sales Not Affected by Kindle Fire Introduction in Tablet Market! Tim Cook

When Amazon Kindle Fire was introduced in the global tablet market, it was said that it would prove a real killer for Apple’s iPad due to its low price. But, today, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook told that iPad 2 sales were not affected by the introduction of kindle Fire at all since the com0pany has set the new record of iPad sales in first quarter of this year with 15.4 million units.

Kindle Fire Vs iPad 2

Tim Cook revealed this all while answering a question from an analyst during today’s quarterly earnings call for financial results of  Q1 2012.

He further said  to the audience that Apple doesn’t consider “limited function tablets and e-readers to be in the same category as the iPad”. The ecosystem of the iPad in a class by itself is the biggest reason in the great success of iPad in first quarter, as believed by the Apple’s CEO Tim Cook.

We strongly believe in optimizing applications from day one to take advantage of the larger canvas. There are only a few hundred apps designed for the competition, versus more than 170,000 apps designed specifically for iPad. People who want an iPad won’t settle for a limited function tablet.

Apple has previously predicted, and Cook restated today, that the company believes tablet market will surpass the PC market in numbers in near future. As said in a latest report by IDC, tablets have knocked desktop PC’s in last quarter on unit basis in the United States.

Apple has ruined its rivals’ hopes for beating iPad demands in the tablet market, and no tablet can even touch the feet of iPad popularity so far. Cook finished by promising that Apple will “continue to innovate like crazy”.

Apple iPad’s great success just before the release of the next generation Retina Display  iPad 3  is really very encouraging for Apple and its fans. iPad 3 is expected to be launched in Feb/March.
