Apple to Offer FaceTime Over 3G in iOS 5: A Reason for Not to Jailbreak Your iPhone!
FaceTime users are well aware of the annoying experience which they have to face while trying to get on a Wi-Fi network in order to use this service. A new report just reveals that Apple new iOS 5 would offer to FaceTime over 3G, so there would be no need to jailbreak your iPhone.
FaceTime is the most popular Apple’s video conferencing service that was introduced last year with iPhone 4 debut and is present now in all iOS devices. Apple originally never allowed using FaceTime without Wi-Fi connectivity due to heavy video streaming. The other factor is the “Carriers” that would ever want to support a full video chatting service.
Yet it is absolutely unclear that FaceTime over 3G was enabled accidently, intentionally for testing or it would be an actual offer for iOS 5 users. Another interesting aspect is to know whether carriers have already granted permission to Apple for faceTime over 3G in iOS 5 by withdrawing from the huge revenue which they get on using FaceTime.
However, at this point we recommend you to not be over excited for FaceTime over 3G in iOS 5 since iOS 5 is still in beta format and Apple can step back at any moment on their own heels or forcing by its carriers like AT&T and Verizon.
