Apple is Richer Than the USA Government: Apple Liquidity Exceeds to the US Government Operating Balance!
Apple is richer than the USA government? Yeah! You have heard right. Though it seems unbelievable but it is a fact now that Apple’s cash liquidity has exceeded to the operating balance of the US government. So we can say that Steve Jobs has beaten Uncle Sam in the race of earning some pretty bucks.

It has been reported by Financial Times, today; Apple, a USA based company dealing in consumer electronics (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iMac, Apple TV etc.), has become richer than the government of the United States of America since it has now the cash reserves of pretty enough $75.876 billion as of July, while the US government has the operating balance of only $73.786 billion. The newspaper referred the latest report of Apple’s quarterly earnings revealed at the end of June. It means Apple, Inc. is almost $2 billion richer than the USA government- the most influential and dominant government on the globe.
Financial Times reports with some salt:
Steve Jobs is now more liquid than Uncle Sam.
While it’s highly unlikely that President Barack Obama is looking to ask the founder and chief executive of Apple Inc. for a loan, it became a fact as of Thursday afternoon — the world’s largest technology company now has more cash on hand than the most powerful democracy on Earth has spending room.
As Republicans and Democrats continue to work towards a compromise to the country’s debt ceiling crisis, the U.S. Treasury Department said on Thursday that Washington now has a total operating balance of only US$73.768-billion.
Meanwhile, Apple currently boasts a cash reserve of US$75.876-billion, as of its most recent quarterly earnings report at the end of June.
One cannot, of course, directly compare the two figures but you can still can get a very clear idea of just how profitable Apple has become since returning to profitability in the years after 1998 with the introduction of the iMac.
We have earlier reported that Apple is richer enough to buy the entire mobile phone industry except Samsung. You should also note the fact that the $73 billion operating balance owned by the US government represents how much money is available to spend on the welfare of the Americans before satisfying the debt liabilities while the cash reserves of $75 billion owned by Apple, Inc. are the solid reserves without the burden of any liability and Apple can spend it on whatever it wants to spend.
Apple has really got an amazing status of prosperity and success with its product line of handy phones, tablets and laptops. It has a leading position in the USA smartphone manufacturers with an overall share of 28% while it is also the World’s top smartphone vendor now.
Notably, Apple with current capital of $363 billion is also world’s second largest company, after Exxon Mobil- a multinational oil and gas corporation.
