Apple Tops US Retail Sales per Square Foot! RetailSails Exclisive
Apple, a giant of mobile and tablet market, has officially ranked number one in US retail sales per square foot as per a latest study carried out by RetailSails- a retail analysis company. The study was made by analyzing more than 160 top U.S based retailers.
Apple has beaten its closest rival (Tiffany & Co) in this category by the lead of 2 times and leads five times ahead of the closest technology related retailer (GameStop) as shown in the graph embedded above.
The most interesting aspect of the study is the fact that Apple is a relatively new company in retails (having experience of only 10 years) as compared to most of other retailers included in the study.
Apple has just opened a few new Apple Retail Stores in the US, UK, Spain, and is also set to open three more stores in Charlotte, Little Rock, and Paris this weekend. Apple’s all these attempts have made it a gigantic retailer and it has turned it to the nation’s fastest growing retailer, according to USA Today.
In the US, the growth rate of Apple Retail Stores recorded about 80% more than the previous year while Apple’s U.S. retail sales has touched the amazing figure of $4.6 billion during the Q1-2011.
That increase accounted for one-fifth of all sales growth by publicly traded retailers in the U.S., according to a recent analysis of sales trends by retail sales expert David Berman.
