Apple’s 3D Mapping to Bring Even Buildings X-rays!
Geo mapping company C3 Technologies have been recently acquired by Apple, as Apple is going to launch its own mapping service instead of Google Maps. Notably, C3 Technologies is the company which deals in 3D mapping and its technology is said to be one of the state of art technologies worldwide.

Apple is expected to launch its 3D mapping with such an enhanced quality that would put Google’s map images in shame.
Now a recent report from Macrumors suggests that Apple’s future mapping would more than an extraordinary service as it would be even able to show X-rays of buildings too.
In other words, Apple is set to turn interior mapping into a reality.
SingularityHub explains the entire issue:
As well as increasing its geographic range, C3 is expanding into interior settings. With a special camera rig, they can also create a 3D model of the interior of a building using the same photo stitching they use with their aerial or street level maps. Businesses have to request C3 to come in and create such an inside map of their facilities, so don’t expect these 3D indoor maps to become ubiquitous anytime soon. Still, the technology is ready and available, so we’re bound to see at least a few examples in the months ahead.
There’s no direct evidence that Apple will implement the interior aspect of C3 Technologies’ work in the future, but it’s interesting that the company was working on the tech before Apple swooped in. Even if Apple were too roll out the interior stuff, they’d have to get businesses to opt in, which might be an uphill struggle… but if anyone can get people to agree to it, it’s Apple.
At present, Apple is utilizing Maps in partnership with Google, but in near future we would experience a remarkable 3D mapping with some stunning new features.
