Apple’s New iPad 4 Features Upgraded FaceTime Camera
BGR has posted a couple of photos reportedly of forthcoming new iPad 4′s assembly. The site identifies the part as an iPad 4′s part but isn’t sure what the part could depict to the tablet lovers.
We have already posted an article describing the rumors of the release of a full sized 9.7 inch iPad refresh along with the launch of iPad mini in today’s media event. Also, rumors hint that the new iPad refresh (iPad 4) will be released with a lightning connector and expanded LTE support. Now BGR claims that new iPad 4 features improved FaceTime camera as well.
The site figures an enlarged front face camera opening as a proof of their claim suggesting an upgraded the front-camera on this new iPad refresh.
The most noticeable changes we can see are the fact that the front-facing camera cutout is larger than the previous model, allowing Apple to include a bigger sensor.
A larger sensor leads to the possibility of a higher quality camera in iPad 4. Notably, the current iPad’s front camera has the ability of capturing “VGA-quality” photos.
Moreover, Apple has released its new iPhone 5 with an improved front-facing camera that was upgraded to 720p video and 1.2MP photos, and the company is supposed to adopt the same strategy for new iPad 4.
BGR, however, hints that the part isn’t essentially of iPad 4, instead, it would be a part of Apple’s future iPad update.
Apple’s iPad mini media event will start on 10 AM Pacific / 1 PM Eastern today. Stay tuned with us for getting latest news about iPad mini and iPad 4 direct from Apple’s media event.
