British Party Girl Accepts Islam Since “Islam Permits True Love Not Sinful Lust”: “Western Portrays False Picture of Beauty”

She was a party girl before conversation to Islam just three months ago and many still doubts on her changed life from a Ibiza party girl to hijab-wearing Muslim woman as she herself admits that her friends still think that it is probably my new fashion style.

But apprentice teacher Heather Matthews, 27, strongly believes that Islam has brought her plentiful ‘love and happiness’ that she never achieved in her old ‘shallow’ and ‘Sinful’ lifestyle.

Mrs Matthews, a mother of two, accepted Islam four weeks ago; she got the blessings of true faith just after coming back from a holiday in Ibiza. She told the world that her pictures before conversion to Islam on that trip are quite shameful for her as she feels that Westrn life style is absolutely ‘lustful’ which portrays false picture of the women and presents them only ‘show pieces’ and ‘sex toys’ like something.

Mrs Mattew told the world about why she accepted Islam?

‘I thought I needed to act and dress in a certain way to feel good about myself. I see girls now and think about what image they are portraying to other people, especially men.

‘It is about self-respect. If you dress and act in a certain way, rightly or wrongly, you’ll be treated in a certain way.

‘Islam has taught me about real love, not false passion and lust. I can even see the logic in arranged marriage.’

According to the research of multi-faith group Faith Matters, more than one million British have accepted Islam within last 10 years and the rate is overwhelming in the U.K.

Notably, their report reveals that majority of the persons (about 2/3^rd) recently converted to Islam in the U.K are women with an average age of 27 just like Mrs Matthews.

She began her journey to Islam when she tried her best to convince her ex-husband Jerrome (himself a Muslim convert) that religion is nothing except a deception. She was ‘very suspicious’ of what the faith is, so she began to study books especially Islamic literature for collecting and powerful arguments in her favor.

Although, She got separation from Jerrome last year,yet she preferred to learn more and more about Islam and finally accepted Islam four weeks ago.

She admits;

‘I underwent the ‘Shahadah’ ceremony of conversion to Islam by repeating a declaration of faith in front of the Imam at my local multi-faith centre.

‘I had several Muslim sisters with me and they bought me a hijab and Islamic books to celebrate. It was wonderful.’

But she also feels that her friends have been shocked at her conversion to Islam, a religion known as quite oppressive towards women.

‘People are probably thinking “Oh, it is just another one of Heather’s fads”. It isn’t. It is what I’ve been searching for during the times I’ve been filling my life with instant gratification,’

Mrs Matthews, from Preston, has also faced very vigilant reaction from her family. But the worst notion she faces everyday is from the passers-by people who watch her astonishingly especially when she is wearing her headscarf.

‘No men try to chat me up. It is an idiot repellent. When I’m wearing the headscarf I can smile at people without them thinking it is a sexual advance. I definitely agree with Islam’s principles of not having sex with someone you’re not married to and to save your beauty for your husband. So I think my next partner would need to be a practising Muslim to understand.

It is easy for me to say this now, with hindsight, having made the mistakes, but I think I would have been better off with partners who my parents thought were suitable, learning to love them through friendship first.’

Moreover, Mrs Matthews has strictly given up alcohol, only eats halal stuff and also has strong wish to fast during Ramadan.

She recites “Quran” written in English language but wants to learn Arabic so that she can offer prayers five times a day.

But she claims that willn’t ever impose Islam on to her daughters against their wish– Ellah, five, and two-year-old Halle – from her marriage to Jerrome.

‘People think I must be oppressed but I’m a strong, confident and free woman,’I know I’m one of the most unlikely people to revert to Islam.

It astounds me. But I’ve done it for love and happiness and it has completely changed my life.’
