Download New Sn0wbreeze 2.9 / PwnageTool for iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak!
Great thanks to pod2G for his excellent work on iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak exploit. The exploit was firstly pasted with Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 “Corona” update. Now you can download the new update of Sn0wbreeze (for Windows) or PwnageTool (for Mac) in order to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 untethered while preserving your old baseband.

The pod2G’s iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak exploit was for A4 chip based devices i.e. the new Sn0wbreeze 2.9 / PwnageTool is compatible with iPhone 4/3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G & iPad 1 only. The support for A5 based devices like iPad 2 and iPhone 4S is expected soon.
Note Please:
Sn0wbreeze 2.9 / PwnageTool are meant for unlockers only as these tools, along with jailbreaking your device, would also preserve the old baseband so you can then unlock your devices with the help of UltraSn0w. If you don’t need a carrier unlock, use Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 instead as it is comparatively easy jailbreak tool.
iOS 5.0.1 Untethered Jailbreak with Sn0wbreeze 2.9 / PwnageTool:
If you want to jailbreak your devices running iOS 5.0.1 untethered, then firstly download the new Sn0wbreeze 2.9 / PwnageTool and also grab the iOS 5.0.1 .IPSW firmware file. After that, follow our already written iOS 5 jailbreak guide with Sn0wbreeze (from Step-2) / iOS jailbreak guide with PwnageTool (from Step-3). Just make sure to not follow the steps written under “Booting your Device in Tethered Mode” section as this time you will be having an untethered jailbreak.
iOS 5.0.1 Unlock with UltraSn0w:
After you’ve successfully jailbroken your iOS 5.0.1 running device on the old baseband then employ UltraSn0w carrier unlock to use your device with any carrier. Follow our UltraSn0w 1.2.5 tutorial for iOS 5.0.1 to execute this task.
