Google Cancels Monday’s Media Event in New York for Hurricane Sandy
Bad news for Google lovers, the company has just announced the cancellation of its grand media even scheduled this Monday in New York City due to Hurricane Sandy, as reported by The Verge.
On Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared a state of emergency in response to the incoming storm, and Google’s event was set to take place on a waterfront pier, which is now in an evacuation zone. Monday won’t be a total loss, though: we’ll be in San Francisco to cover Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 launch, which should be able to evade Sandy’s wrath.
Notable, Google was going to release a 10 inch Samsung Manta tablet, 3G Nexus 7, a LG Nexus Smartphone along with updates to Android at this event.
