“Hype” HTML5 Animation Tool for Mac: Animations are Compatible with iPhone/iPad!

Hype is a new HTML5 animation tool for Mac created by two former Apple employees (Jonathan Deutsch and Ryan Nielsen) who have collectively joined their forces by the name of Tumult. It features almost similar workability that we have earlier experienced while using Macromedia Director. Hype allows you to create very attractive and impressive elements and web animations entirely in HTML5 format. The animations crafted on Hype are quite compatible to work on all latest web browsers and modern mobile devices especially Apple’s iPhone and iPad.

Hype is based upon an automatic keyframe-based animation system. You need no prior knowledge to create animations on Hype since it requires no coding abilities at all. It also uses WebKit technology at the heart of Safari and Chrome, mingled with CSS3 styles to visualize WYSIWYG animations, movements or interaction.

Hype simply outputs  standard HTML5 code, and you are required  to copy a few lines of it into your web documents only and move a resource folder containing the assets. Not only local publishing is possible with Hype, it also supports exporting to Dropbox for easy sharing.

Hype can automatically record and play back a user’s changes, or users can manually re-arrange keyframes. It supports multiple timelines (useful for animations based on mouse or keyboard events), and uses CSS3 (or JavaScript as a fallback) transitions. Users can create unlimited numbers of scenes, and changes to the inner HTML are rendered on the fly for live previewing. It comes with a full Javascript API for custom function coding.

Hype- HTML5 animation tool is exclusively available on Mac App Store for $ 30 only at present. It requires Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later versions for creating animations that are also compatible with iPhones or iPad tablets.
