iOS 6’s New Passbook App for Boarding Passes, Movie Tickets, Loyalty Cards, and More

Apple has just revealed its new iOS 6 firmware for iPhone, ipad and iPod touch devices at WWDC 2012. The new iOS 6 has a number of attractions for Apple fans with numerous new features. One of the most significant is ‘Passbook App’ which makes you quite capable of organizing various events including boarding passes, movie or sports event tickets, store membership cards, loyalty cards, airplane boarding passes and much much more…..all just with a click through your iOs devices.

iOS 6 - WWDC 2012

Tonight, Scott Forstall, Apple’s head of iOS software development, introduced the new Passbook app in his keynote at Worldwide Developers Conference 2012. The app will be available as a new native application that will entertain you as a built in app to iOS 6.
Moreover, the users’ interface of the Passbook app is really very impressive one, since it shows users’ personal items in a card-like interface which is updated live as any change occurs behind the scene. For instance, if there is noted any change in boarding gate on an airplane, the ticket is updated to reveal this change, and a notification is sent to user for making his mind to take appropriate action according to his schedule.

Additionally, Passbook is also linked with Geolocation with the iPhone to pull up the appropriate card for a user. Such as, if someone goes to a Starbucks and opens the Passbook app, he will be shown his Starbucks membership card to scan.

Apple also integrated this wonderful app with its own retail stores and gift cards. To show you the magic of Passbook, a gift card was shown with a QR code for scanning, and with the help of Passbook, the iOS 6 user was notified that only $150 now left on the card.
