Step-1:
Just download the official Android 4.0.3 ICS zip file from the link and rename it to ‘update.zip’.
Step-2:
Now, copy the downloaded .zip file to the root directory of your Nexus S via USB. Ensure it is not inside any folder, it should be in the open.

Then, power off your Nexus S.

Again power it holding down the Volume Up button, followed by the Power button.
