Obama Knows the Power of Twitter: Turns Twitter a Central Stage for 2012 Election Campaign! @BarackObama

Social Media is comprised of some top social sites and the most popular among these are, of course, Facebook & Twitter. Facebook & Twitter social networks are turning into a great source of communication due to their absolutely users’ friendly interface and highly substantial and well recognized “access” to almost everybody living in our planet.

Obama-Twitter

From common man to world’s most influential personalities, like the US President Barack Obama, have their users accounts on both Facebook & Twitter. The President’s well known Twitter account @BarackObama gathers more than 8.6 million followers worldwide. However, the US President has no much time to do tweets himself and his twitter account is being operated by his staff. A latest notice recently published on official website of Barack Obama announces; Obama 2012 presidential campaign staff (Obama for America) will start managing his Twitter and Facebook accounts (which were previously managed by the DNC) and Obama will be Tweeting frequently from @BarackObama, with the signature“-BO.” ….. So the Twitter would play the role of a central stage for Obama’s 2012 Presidential Elections Campaign. Moreover, Obama’s  Facebook page would also be regularly updated in the campaign trail, from Washington, and more.

The 2012 election campaign just started with a latest tweet made by Obama’s staff that reads;

twitter- barack obama- us election 2012

Welcome to a new @BarackObama. From now on, #Obama2012 staff will manage this account; tweets from the President will be signed “-BO.”

Interestingly, Obama’s Twitter account has been posting about one tweet daily since its debut and the latest notice reveals that we would grab more tweets per day duly signature by Obama himself as the US 2012 Elections come nearer to us.

Why Obama decided to use social media especially Facebook & Twitter to carry on his 2012 election campaign? The post on BarackObama.com puts some light on the whole strategy;

As the President said when he launched this campaign a few months ago, he’s focused on doing the job we elected him to do — so he’s counting on all of us to lead this organization from the grassroots up, helping to shape it as it grows. One way we’re putting that idea into practice is by taking the reins of these Facebook and Twitter accounts. This change will give us new opportunities to make the most of these channels, using them not only to report what the President is doing every day but to connect to the millions of supporters who will be driving this campaign.

It seems that alike the US 2008 election in which   Facebook played a key role, the 2012 election would centralize around Twitter, which has now turned into a great communication and information tool than four years ago.

We think, Obama knows the power of Twitter like social media networks  and his campaign through these highly accessible sites is really a “Solid Move” that would play a major role to communicate with the US citizens directly.

When the run would start in the US 2012 Presidential Elections between Republicans and Democrats; everybody would be looking towards Facebook and Twitter; especially the punching tweets from candidates would  be the juicy factor of 2012 Elections- Waiting for the first knocking Tweet from Barack Obama himself for boosting his campaign!
