Android powered smartphones are getting much popularity day by day. Dell Streak is one of those Android phones, which is loved mostly by its large screen resolution. On first look, you can’t differentiate either Dell Streak is a handset or a tablet. The Dell Streak’s manufacturer, the “Dell”, is well determined to run Android 2.2 OS only on this tablet-cum-phone. It means, Dell Streak can run only Android 2.2 OS which is a phone specific operating system; and it is hard to port any tablet specific Android OS on it like Android 3.0 Honeycomb. But hackers are much generous than our thoughts and have no word “impossible” in their dictionary. So they have managed to port Android 3.0 Honeycomb (an operating system for Android tablets) on the Dell Streak device (specific to run Android 2.2 only).
At Present, the build of this hack is in a crucial stage and the developers are not much satisfied to release it as a bundle for common folks to use it. As they found that the hack has matured, they will bring it to you without any delay. Only Motorola Xoom and Asus tablets are the devices which run the latest Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS up till now.
It seems that Dell will have to port Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS on its Streak Model in no time otherwise the hackers are ready to launch their hack to do so.
Here is the video to watch Android 3.0 Honeycomb ported on Dell Streak;
We hope that the Dell Streak will be a distinguished device which will have a double boot system in near future; allowing the users to either use it as a phone set with Android 2.2 OS or try Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS to use the Dell Streak as a tablet too. Then our named word “Phone-cum-tablet”will be labeled on Dell Streak in true sense.
