Apple iPad 3 will Acquire a Retina Display of 2048 x 1536 Resolution?

As the iPad 2’s delivery date (probably 9th Feb. ’11) is coming more nearer to us, the death is near to capture all those rumors which were describing that iPad 2 will have a retina display acquiring high screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. It should be kept in mind that the present model of iPad 2 grabs a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels only. Now the tech gurus are trying to fly their kite of iPad 3 which will acquire the targeted high resolution of 2048 x 1536 – a retina display like iPhone 4. This post will cover all the necessary aspects and news appearing on tech horizons concerning to iPad 3.

iPad 3-Retina Display

Digitimes reported in one of its posts on Thursday that Apple’s iPad 2 will surely of higher resolution than the current model. It is a logical approach as Apple can only defeat its rivals in tech arena by adding something more to its existing products line especially in iPad 2 tablet since a number of companies are going to launch their own tablets.

Digitimes Notes;

Apple will boost the iPad 2′s resolution to widen the company’s technology gap with its competitors. Apple will begin mass production of the iPad 2 by the end of February.

On the other hand, IDC’s research manager Tom Mainelli hints that a high resolution of 2048 x 1536 px for iPad 2 is not possible for Apple at this stage. He expressed his view point  in the following words;

I think the Digitimes story probably got the resolution right, but the iPad version wrong.

Mainelli also told the PCWorld via an e-mail;

Our sources say Apple has requested that manufacturers begin work on displays with that resolution for the iPad 3.I don’t believe anybody is ready to produce that resolution in volumes at this point. And Apple is going to require huge volumes for the iPad 2.

So it seems that Retina Display will be possible only for the next iPad 3 following after iPad 2. It is also worthy to mention that Apple Insider has broken a story of iPad 2 with  a dual-core graphics chip displaying 1080p HD video, as well as a high-resolution Retina Display like iPhone 4. And it is also being hoped that iPad 2 will acquire  dual (front and rear) cameras too.

We can finally comment that iPad 3 will acquire a Retina Display of 2048 x 1536 Resoultion, most likely and much logically rather than iPad 2.
