Facebook Adds Two New Relationship Status Options to Satisfy LGBT Community

Facebook is an extreme social site and no other site even can compare itself with Facebook. Facebook just added two more relationship status options (controversial in many of regions) in its currently available options including Single, In a relationship, Engaged, Married, It’s complicated, In an open relationship, Widowed, Separated and Divorced. The Two new status options added by Facebook are for the satisfaction of LGBT community, where as LGBT stands collectively for “lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender” since 1990s and was formerly known as Gay community, simply.

As it is already mentioned that Facebook added these two new options to preserve and uphold the rights of folks presenting LGBT community and want to disclose their relationship open to know for all. These two new relationship status options are “In a domestic partnership” and “In a civil union”; the people living in US, UK, Canada, France and Australia can already choose any option that fits for them. The other countries are being added in the list to display the two new options by Facebook.

One of the Facebook representatives commented on this advancement while conversation with Mashable;

This has been a highly requested feature from users. We want to provide options for people to genuinely and authentically reflect their relationships on Facebook.

Facebook has always been trying to respect the each and every member of the community. The site has also worked for GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) in the past to preserve their human rights and to stop the maltreatment against LGBT community.

We think, Facebook knows much better the changing environments of our globe and their effects on sociality. Being a vast social platform, Facebook recent step to add two new social status relationship options for its users is a brave step towards human rights preservations and also for the humanity & truth as well; in the countries where sex & religion is not a matter of ponder to.
